VERONESE REVEALS THE KORO COLLECTION DESIGNED BY CHRISTIAN BIECHER
Veronese redefines Christain Biecher’s iconic KORO Lamp for the 2015 Salone del Mobile and expands its pure lines into a new collection. Recognizing the potency of the KORO Lamp’s particular shape, Veronese turned to their archives to further bolster this unique design. Marked by an exciting mix of colors and textures that goes beyond traditional lighting expectations, Veronese reveals a collection that includes a wall lamp, lamppost, table lamp, a suspension and – for the first time – an end table all made of Murano glass.
The KORO COLLECTION was conceived by architect and designer Christain Beicher, and developed by Veronese in the workshops of Murano. The conception of the KORO COLLECTION 2015 began in 2000 when Christian Beicher first designed the KORO Lamp to illuminate the famous Korova restaurant in Paris, known for it’s futuristic design inspired by Stanley Kubrik’s cult classic film Clockwork Orange. The Korova quickly became a highly talked about and trendy restaurant for both its unusual design and surprising menu that included such dishes as roast chicken cooked in Coca-Cola and lobster hot dogs.
Veronese welcomes visitors of Salone del Mobile and Euroluce 2015 to discover first hand the KORO COLLECTION’S diverse colors – crystal, opaque black and crystal sable – and motifs – inlays in silver leaf, Rigadino and traditional Murano streaking.
Christian Biecher describes KORO as “A precise and uncluttered design inspired by the shape of a water tower, which becomes universal as the bulb disappears within.”
