Memento by Dan Yeffet is both a stool and end table made from mold-blown Murano glass. Its diamond quilted relief motion is mold-blown, marking a new height in mold blown glass art. Unlike other mold-blown designs, Memento’s design challenged the artisans to combine the design’s considerable size, decorative motif, and its purpose. Rarely, if ever, has a functional mold-blown design with a relief pattern of such magnitude been created. More than one year of research and development was required to create its complicated multi-piece mold, weighing 350 kilos. Then five master artisans manipulated the enormous volume of glass into a refined, functional object.
